Senate passes bill allowing states to tax online sales
Mon May 6, 2013
So what happens when you have gone all year not taxing people and then in December, you break the $1M in sales to go past the tax exempt point? Do you only have to collect tax on the proceeds over $1M or do you have to go back and collect tax from everybody? Hmmm....I'd like to see what the law says …
NYC to sift construction debris for remains of 9/11 victims
Sat Mar 30, 2013
Seriously....12 years later...seriously. I get the idea of closure, but as others have stated, a tiny bone fragment isn't going to bring the vast majority of people any closer to 'closure.' Waste of time, money and also any of those still looking for closure, their hopes for 'closure' when their lov …

In breaking news, the same man was re-admitted to the hospital obviously suffering for a serious, but previously diagnosed, head injury or dementia.
Apple patent reveals future iPhone with wraparound display
Thu Mar 28, 2013
Might be useful if you want to share what you are seeing on your screen (mirror) with a few people at the table since you can still look at people without them over your shoulder, or if you want to show people a presentation that they see and have the slide talking points on your screen? I have the …
Applying for Obama plan not easy
Wed Mar 13, 2013
Dear President Obama, Why should ANY US Citizen have to apply for and/or fill out paperwork to have healthcare in this great nation of ours? Scrap this plan and adopt a single payer directive, 'tax' my employer in the same manner that they pay my healthcare premiums already (to UHC, Cigna, Met, Huma …
TSA to allow passengers to carry small knives on planes
Tue Mar 5, 2013
On another note, fingernail clippers are still prohibited... :) A good step, but alas, we will never be able to travel we did before that faithful day.
One perk gone: Yahoo says no to telecommuting
Mon Feb 25, 2013
Having been in both types of roles, 'in-office' and telecommuting and can say that telecommunting does leave itself open to abuse, but also that the company can get a TON of extra hours and effort out a telecommuter. As many have pointed out, commute time savings at a minimum. Lack of 'hall talk' an …
Job seekers ask: Where has all the courtesy gone?
Wed Feb 20, 2013
I especially find it 'interesting' when recruiters/agencies fail to follow-up with applications/submissions for positions they have open. Again, they seem to forget that some of us managers may need to have an agency or recruiter help us hire more in the future and I, for one, remember who was profe …
Ex-cheerleader tackles Facebook harassment via YouTube
Mon Feb 11, 2013
Ignorance is everywhere. That is just a fact of the world we live in and the Internet has given the ignorant a voice, for better or worse. Ms. Collins is very attractive by all counts (and in my opinion). To a degree, I have to ask, 'does she really take these obvious jokes seriously?' We've all hea …
Poor in cages show dark side of Hong Kong boom
Thu Feb 7, 2013
The lady with the grandkids is getting about $1225/month (US Dollars) in wellfare based on the article. That is basically the take home pay of a minimum wage earner (maybe a bit more, even) in the US on a monthly basis, just to put that in perspective about what our own people do to live (survive).
